The Next Intercessor
I’ve made a start on the second Intercessor squad from Dark Imperium.
Nothing particularly special to note about this one, although I am pleased with how it turned out. I’ve just noticed that none of the models in the second Intercessor squad are in firing poses, so unfortunately I don’t think there will be the opportunity for any LED muzzle flashes in this squad.
Primaris Captain with Plasma Pistol
I have finished work on what is possibly my most complex model to date – the limited release Primaris Captain with plasma pistol and interchangeable head!
As you can see the plasma pistol is always on, but the helmet with the LED eye lenses and the bare head (without LEDs) are “hot swappable”. Check out the video below.
This was achieved by hiding a transistor socket in the neck which the legs of the LED could then slot into easily. Now I’ve shown this works, I’ll probably use this technique again in the future.
Primaris Lieutenant with Power Sword
I have finished the Primaris Lieutenant with power sword from the Dark Imperium box.
I’m very pleased with how the power sword turned out. It was definitely one of my most fiddly LED conversions to date. As there was a bit of trial-and-error involved I didn’t take photos to make a tutorial this time, but now I’ve perfected the process I will do when I make the next model with a power sword.
A New Website and a New Squad
Welcome to my new website, chrisbuxeypaints.com. I’ve had various hobby blogs on a number of sites over the years, and of course my Instagram, but I decided it was finally time to collect all my LED work and tutorials in a single easy-to-find location, along with a general hobby blog.
